How a Last-Minute Change Led Me to Photograph a Private Island Wedding
Mari reached out just three weeks before her wedding after seeing my recent work—and made a bold decision: she canceled her original photographer and booked me instead. As a wedding photographer based in Indiana, I was honored to take on this unforgettable opportunity.
From Indiana to Key West: The Travel Journey to a Destination Wedding
The day before the wedding, I hopped in the car and drove from Indiana to Chicago O’Hare Airport. From there, I flew to Naples, Florida, where a private plane—operated by Fly Charters—was waiting.
We took off, soared across the Florida coastline, and just 40 minutes later, I landed in Signature Aviation, Key West. But the adventure wasn’t over yet.
A boat took me across the turquoise water to Sunset Key, a secluded, picture-perfect island that feels like something out of a dream. No roads. No crowds. Just peace, palms, and the promise of a perfect wedding.
A Wedding That Felt Like a Fairytale
The moment I arrived, I could feel the energy. The vendors were already hard at work, transforming the island into Mari’s vision—and they absolutely delivered.
Here’s what made the day unforgettable:
